AUT University

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a New Zealand university established in 2000, evolving from a technical college founded in 1895. It has five faculties across three Auckland campuses City, North, and South plus three specialist sites.

In 2016, AUT had over 29,000 students, including 4,194 international and 2,417 postgraduate students. Its diverse student body spans various ethnicities and age groups. The university employed 2,474 staff (FTE) and reported that 86% of graduates secured full-time jobs within nine months. AUT ranked 441–450 in the 2016 QS World University Rankings.

University of Auckland

The University of Auckland, established in 1883, is New Zealand’s leading research-led university. It holds a Five Stars Plus QS rating for excellence in multiple categories and is the only NZ university ranked in the QS top 100 and Times Higher Education top 200.

As the country’s largest university, most students study at the City Campus, centrally located near Auckland’s business district, transport hubs, and vibrant social scene.
